About

The idea for Fun Fresh Finance was born out of the Covid-19 pandemic. I have a great deal of teacher friends in their early twenties who have become "pod" teachers for wealthy parents around the San Francisco Bay Area. For the first time in most of their lives, they have a substantial amount of savings and are starting to think about what to do with that money. Knowing that I have been pocketing away my earnings to invest since I entered the workforce, they have begun to approach me for advice on when they should start investing, how to begin investing, and whether or not investing their money is the correct decision for them.

This has led to a great deal of conversations about retirement vehicles such as IRAs and 401ks, benefits of traditional IRAs versus roth IRAs, why you would invest in stocks versus invest in bonds, and countless other beginner financial topics. I've even had conversations about more elementary concepts of investment, such as compound interest and what APY (annual percentage yield) means. I have written up these conversations into an easily digestible blog form, and Fun Fresh Finance is the resulting product.
